 Meeting called to order at 5:05 p.m. by Commissioner. 
 -Minutes of the May Board meeting approved; motion/seconded: Fr. Mack, Zan Liebowitz 
 -Monthly intakes (75) on various issues including: employment/termination, landlord/tenant issues, legal assistance needs, etc…..from individuals contacting the office in person or via the telephone….plus communications on HR Scholarship, Juneteenth Day and Aunt Helen

 Meetings: Attended Salvation Army Board Meeting and Homsite Board Meeting. Attended NAACP Freedom Fundraiser Banquet/Program…Speaker: Mayor William Johnson, Jr. from Rochester NY. A dynamic speaker, he is the first African-American  to hold the position of chief executive for New York

 Conflict Resolution and Motivation Workshop: Attended workshop….the first session dealt with conflict resolution guidelines: determining the root of the conflict, listen/value the other person

 Juneteenth Day: Juneteenth Day media preparation complete…newspapers, radio, television, politicians, churches, schools, have been contacted. The number of people in attendance is expected to be around 250 people with a very good attendance from Casey Park, Herman, and Seward Elementary Schools. Wegmans has been notified of the number in attendance and has noted how the program has grown over time. In addition to Storyteller Vanessa Johnson, Rev. Douglas Taylor-Weiss will substitute for Commission member Rev. Mack, Babette Younis will represent NYS Governor Pataki. Short poetry readings will be by Pauline Cope-Johnson, Great Grandniece of Harriet Tubman, and students.

 Annual Report:  Auburn HR Annual Report 2001 (copies provided) printing has arrived from MDI Printing in Syracuse, NY. The self-mailer publication will be sent to organizations, schools, churches, City Council members, Commission Members, etc.

 Budget & Public Meeting: Director  and Commission Members attended Budget & Public Meeting…although members and staff were available for questions and comments on the budget, Council quickly mentioned the item and moved onto the next item on the agenda.

 New Business: The Commissioner usually cancels the July meeting due to holiday (July 4). Members agreed to cancel July meeting and meet in August.  
 Old Business: Discussed Scholarship and Programs.

 THE NEXT HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION BOARD MEETING WILL BE  WEDNESDAY, August 7th, 2002 AT 5:00 P.M. floor, City Hall
